This is the third day of around the clock below zero temperatures and horrific windchills. When Lily goes out she does her duty and is back in seconds to be let in. I've been housebound retired for 2 of the days- just to cold to venture out if not necessary. Weatherman says this is the coldest in 7 years.
Snowed 4 in overnight. So far for January we've had about 1 inch and that's not very much snow cover for the garden. Today Lily and I went for a fun walk along the Champlin Parkway after Yoga class. Lily enjoyed romping in the fresh, fluffy flakes. When we got home I shoveled a bunch of snow on some of the more tender perrineals. Have been getting a lot of garden catalogs since xmas. Sure enjoy going through them. Still mark a lot of the pages for a "wish list" but order less and less from catalogs each year mainly because my gardens are pretty much "finished" although there is always some new things I want and buy- then sometimes have to find a place to squeeze them in. Also a lot of the stuff is readily available at local nurseries, not like in the 70's when I started and not much was available locally.
