Memorial Day

Quiet holiday at home. Pots of flowers looking good at cemetery. Rained the last 4 days and the grass getting so long. Mowed front yard last pm but had to stop when it started raining. Mowed the back this afternoon and finished 5 min before it started to rain again. We needed the rain. Gardens look good. Cool weather has kept the tulips blooming longer. The pretty spring green color is still around but will be gone soon. Early peony and fern leaf done have finished blooming. The red and white peonies are blooming now. Received my WWF catalog order 2 days ago but its too wet to plant or divide plants.

Miss Staples doing good

Lily is on the mend. Went on an outing to a garden open house at Kelley & Kelley. Lily loved being out and about. Feeling good. Bought some herbs, "Ghost" fern, and a Guara that is suppose to be hardy in zone 4. Lily and I went for a walk in a meadow/woodsy area and sat quietly on a bench enjoying the day. I love Lily, she is such a wonderful beagle. She loves to go out and about.
