Mankato

Jim, Lily and I went on a road trip to Mankato. Beautiful day for a drive. Stopped at Chaska Herb farm and Brewery Creek on the way down. As we got nearer to Mankato we could see all the damage from the heavy rainfall. Mudslides, ditches filled with water, ponds and lakes full, cropland saturated or standing in water. Lots of lost crops and damage. Mankato got hit with heavy rainful last week. For a spring that started out dry it turned very wet in May making up for water deficits and causing problems for some areas. In our neck of the woods it's been nice catching up on rain and not needing to water. Have to mow the grass frequently. Gardens are lush and blooms huge, trees and bushes big and full. Even the weeks along the roadsides are green and healthy. My neighbor to the west is growing healty danylions and other weeds which will be coming my way. So far has only mowed once so lots of weed seeds coming.
