Nearby Gas Explosion

Yesterday morning I was in the den watering plants when I heard and felt a big "BOOM". Lily heard it too and gave out a big bark. I ran down to the basement to check the furnace which was foolish. For one thing if it had been our furnace I wouldn't have been able to go downstairs. I looked out the front window to see if anything was going on but didn't see anything. A few minutes later Jim called from work to ask if I heard the explosion and say that Randy E-Mailed him on his cell phone to ask him the same thing. Jim said there had been an explosion in Ramsey but didn't know any other details. I check on-line and found out it was a bank in Ramsey on hiway 10 and Sunfish Blvd and one man had been found and was taken to my old stomping ground HCMC by helicoper. As the day went on it turned out 3 women were found dead in the rubble. On Tv it showed a big crater wher the building had been. Hiway 10 was closed until late that night when the last body was found. This explosion was from a gas leak. The location is maybe 1 1/2 to 2 miles west of home. Scarey. AND four days ago was the big 9.0 earthquake and tsuami waves in asia killing 116,000 reported so far- Sri Lanka, India, Sumatra.

Mild Winter

So far it's been a mild winter, very enjoyable to be outside. Lily an I found a wonerful new trail along the Rum River. It goes from the Anoka grain elevator all the way to the library and Ramsey regional park. We often walk the portion from the railroa tracks by the state hospital entrance to the landscape school by the Anoka HS. It follows the historical Red River Ox Trail and curves and bends along with the Run river here in Anoka. Originally it went all the way to the Red River and was a route to bring furs etc to the cities.
