Brrrrrrr

Winters here for sure- about 3 inches of snow on the ground, temps in single digits with below zero windchills. Bundled up to go to Yoga this am only to find L front tire flat. There has to be nails surfacing because I've had multiple flats, especially L Front tire since the roof facia was redone with aluminum back 4 or 5 yrs ago. I know I picked up mamy nails, barbs after the workers were finished but I still seem to get a lot of flat tires. So, no yoga today with delays- first tow truck didn't show after 1 1/2 hrs so Amaco called another. Then station busy so can't pick up tire until after 4pm. But it sure is pretty outside. Birds are busy at feeders and I've had to refill them frequently. I think that deer I saw a while back emptied it a couple of times too, and the squirrls are mighty fat. During the warm spell after Thanksgiving I put silver balls and snowflakes on the purple tree. I bought some elaborate red, green, gold, silver outdoor ornaments and hung them on the tree by the garage door and a few in the red cedar tree by the birdbath. Really look nice. Last friday I got a letter from the city of Anoka informimg me that there will be street renewal nest spring/summer. I'm glad, the streets they've done so far look so nice and really improves the look of the neighhood which I love with the variey of home styles, ages, and individual touches each owner has done to make their house special. I'm wondering will the street be widened?, what about my gardens in front? sidewalks?, where will we park, get mail? It's major work- sewer, water, pavement, curbs, driveway entrances. There's a meeting next week at city hall for us to find out details and they impact on each home. I know my hosta garden under the trees in NW will be gone and same with the small garden NE side of driveway. I've known these will be gone beacause of the city's easement but I hope my large front garden would be affected. It's so beautiful, especially in the spring with the bulbs and peonies and then agin in the fall with all the mum varieties, and different foliage plants, grasses that meke it special.
